This week in music upper grades are testing out their first xylophone pieces. The middle grades are exploring movement and creating pathways. And our primary grades are learning about repeating motions and playing singing games. I'm getting a lot of inquires about Recorder Club, Band, Strings and Boomin Beats. I'll have more information for you next week as I'll be talking to classes about these groups and handing out information and sign up sheets. Look these papers next Monday or check on the Lewis website.

In 4th & 5th grade Tech Mr. Lauer is leading a Tuesday beginning coding class using a program called Scratch. This is free program that you can download at home and learn. On Wednesdays - Friday's students we are exploring architecture and learning Google SketchUp. Another free program you can download and use at home. 5th Graders are learning about modern city planning and designing a car-free community. They will be looking at cities around the world, like Venice, Italy for inspiration. While 4th graders are tackling a more local architectural problem, designing a new Sellwood Bridge. Who knows, they just might solve a problem the adults can't seem solve.
